About GridPrint

It started with a tattoo stencil

My girlfriend Aline is a tattoo artist. She designs her work in Procreate on the iPad, then needs to print full-size stencils — sometimes spanning multiple sheets of paper. Every time, it was the same painful routine: export to the computer, open Photoshop, fight with print settings, get the wrong size, start over.

Existing tools didn't cut it

Photoshop doesn't make it easy to tile an image across multiple pages at an exact physical size. The online tools we tried were worse — they fit images to pages instead of letting you specify the exact dimensions you need. When you're transferring a tattoo stencil to skin, "close enough" doesn't work.

So I built something better

I'm Luiz Tanure, a software developer. After watching Aline struggle with this one too many times, I decided to build a tool that does one thing well: take any image and split it across standard printer pages at the exact size you need. No accounts, no uploads, no subscriptions — just open the browser and print.

Then it grew

What started as a quick weekend project became something I genuinely enjoyed building. I invested in solid architecture, thorough testing, internationalization across 10 languages, and all the details that make a tool feel polished. GridPrint was built as a personal challenge and a way to give something useful back to the community of makers, artists, and anyone who prints big.
